Replacement of piston rings without cylinder boring according to the repair size can result in a long run-in period of new rings adjusting to the old cylinder surface which has out-of-roundness. In order to speed up this process and make it safer (with minimal metal losses in rings and cylinders due to formation of shavings), it is recommended to apply Revitalizant®.
Recommendations
If the engine is still disassembled, it is recommended to treat cylinder surfaces with the mixture of Revitalizant® and motor oil in equal proportions during the engine assembly.
Recommended product — Revitalizant® for cylinders
If the engine is assembled, it is necessary to treat it with Revitalizant® immediately after replacing the piston rings during the run-in period.
