The engine has undergone complete overhaul

Any internal combustion engine after complete overhaul is worse than a new engine. Precision of adjustment of all sizes and exact treatment of all surfaces of both crankshaft and cylinders is lower than during manufacture. This indicates stricter conditions for the run-in of such internal combustion engines. They cannot be loaded at least during initial 1,800–2,400 miles. Typically, the initial run-in period after complete overhaul of the engine continues for the first 1,200–1,800 miles of run, and the final adjustment of parts is achieved by 6,200–9,300 miles of run. The existing idea that one can pour the cheapest, which means, low-quality oil during the initial run-in period of the engine is completely wrong. It is exactly during the run-in period of parts when they operate in the most loaded mode given that their surfaces come into contact only through tips of micro-irregularities which always remain after mechanical treatment.

XADO Revitalizant® for engine allows to exclude “the initial run-in” after complete overhaul of the engine and to perform perfect adjustment of parts using the motor oil recommended by the manufacturer for the whole service period. XADO Revitalizant® for engine provides perfect adjustment of reinstalled parts. Simultaneously the run-in durability decreases by at least two times and the necessity of motor oil change after “the initial run-in” is eliminated since the metal shavings, inevitably accumulating in the oil from the beginning of the run-in period, help to form a ceramic-metal layer on operating friction surfaces and create optimal expansion gaps within a short period of time. Treatment of engines with XADO Revitalizant® is especially efficient by partial replacement of parts (pistons, piston rings and bushings) without cylinder boring and grinding of crankshaft pins. In this case treatment of an engine with XADO Revitalizant® allows to partially restore worn-out operating surfaces of cylinders and crankshaft pins, as well as to perfectly adjust the reinstalled parts with those that haven’t been replaced during the repair.

  • XADO Revitalizant® for cylinders is recommended as an additional means of restoration of operating surfaces by partial change of engine parts (pistons, piston rings and bushings) without cylinder boring and grinding of crankshaft pins. A thin layer of Revitalizant® is applied onto partially worn-out operating surfaces of cylinders before installment of pistons by the engine assembly. It provides restoration of partially worn operating surfaces of cylinders within as short period of time as possible.
